Pros

A good company, customers make the experience worth while. I have an amazing manager who teaches me things daily. This is a fun industry and there is always something new to learn. Not to mention access to all the best products.

Cons

Shipment once a week. It get suppppper repetitive. Inventories are a major pain too. And getting good people in this company for minimum wage is a tough thing to do.

Low pay No way to bonus Health insurance was changed to one full year of employment instead of 90 days. Not much of an incentive to new hires Poor Territorial management as well as VP Extremely poor communication from upper management Very poor training program Some stores are located in very bad areas Some stores are in very poor condition Power goes out in 12 degree weather, you are expected to keep working until it gets dark No running water? Keep the store open. No working bathroom, keep the store open.

Pros

The people. Benefits are okay, but not as good as they used to be. For example, now I have to go to one of the national "chain" eye care clinics (think WalMart, ShopKo, etc.) because every independent local eye clinic doesn't take our insurance.

Cons

No opportunity for advancement. EXTREMELY high turnover within the order filling deparment/outbound department (this is not the case in the inbound department). The starting pay is *not* competitive (and WAY too low - I believe a door greeter at WalMart probably has a higher starting wage). Management is afraid of confrontation - they would rather make a general statement regarding problem issues to the whole staff than to actually discipline problem employees face to face. This leads to lots of gossiping and animosity among staff.
