Pros

Fun, fast paced and challenging work. Always something new. its a trucking company and I was helping to coordinate freight flow, I felt like I was truly playing positive a role in helping truck drivers and suppliers, and merchants support their families, helping stores keep shelves stocked so that people could open great Christmas presents.

Cons

they use temp services to hire "temp to hire" individuals and promise 40K+ after 60 days. problem is hardly any one makes it past 40. its like clock work. the management is friendly and knowable but will stab you in the back and not think twice. I was promised that if I was any thing I could improve on that Management would discuss it with me and I would be given a chance to correct it. I worked HARD 50+ hrs. keep my head down, didn't leave till the job was done, volunteered to take on hard tasks, mentored two individuals who came after me. offered thoughtful suggestions when asked, participated in meetings. my floor supervisor, Director of ops. and VP of Ops. all complemented me on the work I was doing, Told me I had nothing to worry about talked about how I would get more training after Christmas, invited me into hire level management meetings. Then after working a 10 hour day on Friday,10 days before Christmas I got a call from the temp agency telling me that "They didn't feel that I fit with their organization" and they canceled my contract 10 days before they were contractually obligated to hire me, and double my pay. They pride them selves on Christian values, but they only value money.

Pros

They accept new CDL students with no experience.

Cons

There is NO work/life balance! 1 day off after you work 6 days.. You're exhausted constantly. If you're not driving, you're sleeping. Well, trying. It's very difficult learning to sleep while on a moving truck. It's not like taking a nap in the car on a ride. Our trainer was awful. He wasn't qualified to be a trainer at all. Teaching us against company policy. Offensive in MANY ways. Left us in the truck for hours while he went in to gamble. We are in the process of getting a new trainer. NOT easy! Our fleet manager barely did anything. We finally got in touch with the man over the trainers and he has helped us much more than anyone else.
