Literally everything else. Anyone with a manager title cares about no one else except other managers. No “hellos” in the hallways, absolutely no acknowledgement at all. The culture is so toxic there and I 100% know it’s because of the managers. Jessica Albright was the only exception. She is probably the only one who deserves her managerial title because she knows how to treat people.

Some areas are more political and hierarchical. My department shifted heavily that way with various management changes. I also felt trapped in my role. I was discouraged from pursuing other roles by my manager, was also told that there were no promotion options though they moved my backfill vacancy up a notch on the ladder after I left. I would love to go back but would be more shrewd about the role and department that I apply for next time. I felt I had to leave to be able to move.
