Pros

A fast paced working environment with opportunities for professional development if you take the initiative. Pay and benefits are competitive.

Cons

As a large organization exiting the economic prosperity of the mid-90s, Cox still has it's fair share of limited value-add slackers and the real work tends to fall predominately on the high performers. Although the economic climate has forced management to take a more proactice approach in thinning the heard of slackers over the past few years.

Pros

Great benefits: free internet; mostly free cable; insurance starts the day you start; 401k and pension (after a certain amount of time); as long as you can get cable, you can take your van home; pretty free to do what you want as long as you're completing the jobs you're assigned (if you finish early you can run some errands real quick)

Cons

Like most big companies, they blow up little things into reasons to fire people. Increasingly high expectations out of employees (they fired x number of employees, so the rest are expected to pick up the slack, no questions asked), they don't always give straight answers to questions you ask, and usually deflect if you bring up an issue, getting updated equipment is like pulling teeth, especially if you want it to work well. Also, the pay is pretty awful for the kind of work being done.
