Pros

Ok pay and benefits could be better. Discounted price on home services. Easy to get time off for personal or family use.

Cons

Lack of management. Long hours. Very high goals with account abilities you have NO control over. Management says open door policy but cares less what you have to say. No opputurnity for advancement unless you are a favorite. No consistency from day to day. Once Hampton Roads took over and made it there way things have gone downhill fast. Managers and supervisors are not hired from within so they have no experience other than a degree. They seem only to care about ther NUMBERS and not there employees.

Pros

9-to-5 and weekdays work schedule, can refuse to do work without repercussion. Low stress because management is satisfied being #5 in the cable/satelite industry. If you are unable to track project budgets well, this place is for you because the budgets are guess-work.

Cons

If you have ambition to achieve or work for top-tier company, you will be frustrated here. Project financial management is so unorthodox, it really isn't managed. Good place to learn what NOT to do because that's the "best practice" at Cox Communications. Union mentality, 9-to-5, weekdays only, no competitiveness to be #1 company in industry, job security contributes to lack of competitiveness, good talent leaves company leaving the less talented to be promoted (Peter's Principle survives well here), penny-pinching company.

Pros

Severely discounted cable and internet Great Paid time off program People take the jobs seriously Lots of opportunity to interact with clients and customers

Cons

Massive layoffs in Omaha are coming due to consolidation Good people that have been with the company for years are losing positions and it is not fair. Awful prescription drug plan Not a lot of opportunity for advancement
