Pros

- The workplace is very welcoming and inviting. Most people are very friendly and happy to talk to you, all the way up and down the hierarchy. - If you have a strong work ethic, proficient technical skills, and good interpersonal skills, you can advance your career very quickly. - Historically, there has been a lot of opportunity for lateral career movement. If, for example, you are in finance but you are interested in supply chain, there’s a strong chance you could get exposure to that. - For most, compensation is good and work/life balance is too. - It’s easy for your coworkers to become your friends. This, combined with work/life balance, is what is keeping me here.

Cons

- Constant org restructuring results in non-stop change. - Career advancement for middle management is just as driven by corporate politics as it is by merit. As such, leadership of many departments is questionably qualified. - On a similar note, Senior Leadership often acts indecisively. Decisions will be made without or against the advice of others, only for those decisions to be reversed several months or years later, further increasing internal turmoil. - It is growing increasingly difficult to buy into what the company’s vision for itself is, as that vision is becoming increasingly unclear. - As of 2025, I would not recommend joining the company. This has been a great place to work for many years, but the company is facing lots of significant change over the next year or two. Joining at this time would be a very poor experience.

Pros

benefits are great, at times the employee-first ideal is equally spread across all groups. campus is beautiful, some really fun events around the holidays too.

Cons

*poor leadership in CMI; mismanagement of funds and resources now negatively impacting teams that were not part of those decisions. *too much micro-managing re: butts in the chairs on property, while not using that time to actively team build or collaborate. Morale killer *recent focus from merit and proof of performance shifting to identity politics/walking on eggshells leading to uneven/unfair workload distribution, which builds resentment and ruins morale.

NOT THE SAME

Pros

Great company when I started. The culture was amazing and people truly cared. Nice offices at HQ. Pay was decent.

Cons

Whether because of a changing market or leadership changes, the culture is not the same. Re-orgs are the norm now. Long tenured employees banking on retirement from Cox are being eliminated.
