Pros

- Clean work environment - OK Health Benefits - Many hard working co-workers

Cons

- Nepotism. Many people are directly related to each other and some family members directly report to others. - Unfortunately if you are brilliant - a sub-par employee whose family member is in the executive management level always seems to receive the handouts first. Therefore - promotions are hard to come by. - Salary is below the local standard - especially for the NY-NJ area and the workload is intense. - Frustrating that this place is run heavily on politics. Little planning and analysis done. - No Training in both technical and management areas. - Beware of HR - unlike other companies, if you talk to HR they will use that information against you. HR is sneaky and the high level management of HR is unfriendly, curses when talking about people and is known to troll the internet checking to see which of their current employees updated their resume. HR does not question why people are leaving, but rather looks for ways to "scare" people into not trying to leave. - Extremely negative environment - Paid Time off - there are no sick/personal days. Therefore people come into work either sick because they do not have any PTO. Add paid sick days that may be used separately from PTO. Starting PTO for hourly employees are 10 days/year, and for salary employees 15 days/year.

Pros

Even an extremely knowledgeable engineer will learn new things here as the diverse product lines would take years to master all of the products and programming capabilities. Plus there is a steady flow of new products mostly built on similar platforms so the growth curve is always developing. For a knowledge addict: this place is ideal for constant new information and data. The level of skill and knowledge among the workers if far higher than peer companies. A stringent interview process weeds out weak candidates, so peers and subordinates tend to be well chosen and selected. Coworkers are ready to solve any problem to your face. The appearance is of cooperation. Knowing the Crestron products and programming will open more doors than any other control or AV distribution platform. AMX and Extron are fading with some really poor decision making and lack of innovation in general, though there other companies that have been around and are beginning to "finally" innovate, though with some: I am not yet convinced that their QC is where it needs to be and others only have niche innovations which speaks well for Crestron's future.

Cons

This is a two-faced operation. The appearance of cooperation belies an underbelly of anti-diversity and backstabbing. The most talented people are not recognized and some are even expelled for lack of conformity. Not everything that this company creates is a good product or even a good idea, but speaking up about how to fix the bad ideas can lead to alienation from the top or even dismissal. #disloyalty is so pervasive that it cannot be understated. You can solve problems that no one else can, close the most cases, create the best products, and still be discarded for no apparent reason (have seen that multiple times). Suggest to avoid this place if you are a diversity candidate. Even if you manage to squeak past the rigorous admissions process (which is unlikely): your future will be limited and your promotions nil. Some of the product categories where Crestron is failing are being taken over by other companies with greater vision in those niches. Just because AMX is foundering with some good ideas and some terrible ones, and Extron does not appear to be funding R&D at all: there are other companies that we have long laughed at that are beginning to gain traction in niches and areas. As Crestron remains solid in a couple of areas: others are being ceded to superior products with greater vision elsewhere.

Pros

international brand good for a label on your resume. If you are anything other than a programmer dont bother, people later on in life will ask you who they are and what they do. i.e. marketing career. Good work life balance rarely did I have to take my work home with me.

Cons

Team... There are some very shady people who work here not so much a team environment like they put themselves out to be. Furthermore if you come into this company with ideas, hold on to those ideas, they will steal them and mark them as there own, with all the contracts and non sense you fill out beforehand you are at a lose.
