Pros

If you are on the right side of management you will be good.

Cons

Get on the wrong side and there is no actual work done to even try to make things work. Get ready for a surprise! In my short time with the company I witnessed 4 firings on a small team and in most if not all cases no efforts were made to resolve issues.

Thank you for your comments. Transparency is very important to us at Cricut and we stand by trust, respect, candor and our values. Unfortunately for you, we do not share confidential conversations relating to exiting employees with their peers. Fortunately for our employees, we make every effort to "make things work" before exiting an employee. We do not however, tolerate brilliance that cannot or will not work as a collaborative member of the team. It's disheartening that your perception is different from reality as it relates to helping employees. We do wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and take note of your review.

Pros

Salary and benefits are highly competitive Impressive product and software The environment, for the most part, is laid back Flexible schedule Some of the engineers are highly talented and very friendly Consumer base is very passionate about the product The CEO seems to be very active and involved Great place to gain valuable experience, pay your dues, then leave

Cons

It is very important for any potential candidate who is considering employment here to pay very careful attention to some of the negative reviews. Those reviews have a lot of merit. Very cliquish environment; an unscrupulous culture. Very questionable job security. The performance achieved is irrelevant. This is a late startup. Thus, no bonus structure, stock and equity are available. Similarly, career opportunities: forget about it. The lack of organization and systematic planning has been appalling. Unclear roles and expectations that changes very quickly. No direction regarding new projects. You are forced to figure it out and master it on your own very quickly. Communication between departments in particular can be inconsistent, and sometimes just plain wrong. Senior management consists of people who appear to be close friends. If you are not close friends with these people, consider your job in jeopardy. Senior management do, in fact, have a warped vision of the definition of teamwork. Contrary to their words, they are not devoted to their developers. Their measurement of performance is binary: Either you are performing, or you are not. Furthermore, also contrary to their words, the company has fired a lot of people, a fact they adamantly deny. The developers who are especially vocal have been mistreated, unfairly and harshly assessed, and abruptly terminated.

Dear Cricut Employee, Please come talk to your HR/Legal team in person. Or, talk with Ashish or Vivek directly. You will be MORE respected by offering your concerns directly. We cannot help with your concerns without hearing from you. We do not allow politics. Living our company values is paramount to our success at every level. It is difficult to take this type of feedback seriously given the passive-aggressive behavior that helps no one and is counterproductive in representing our company values. Be part of the solution, don't be a victim.
