Stuck in the past, "we've always done it this way" mentality. My manager was too arrogant to consider any ideas but his own. Wants to control every step and every decision, but not be responsible. "lets have another meeting" should be their moto. No wonder things don't get done timely. Project Engineering, Process Engineering, Planning, Reliability Engineering and Human Resources are a revolving door, no one stays more than a year or so. There's a reason! Almost feels like that is how Managers justify their positions and try to keep their jobs, always recruiting and training another replacement.

Always have the fear of being fired. Poor work/life balance. Unrealistic expectations from management (ie. No reward for going the extra mile but chastised if you only fulfill your obligations). Poor management culture that had been rewarded. Engineers are not valued due to high profit margins.
