Pros
Gain reputation in the industry to explore later opportunities In the earlier times, employment benefits were excellent Lots of opportunity to do many different, interesting projects Used to be a family orientated company
Cons
Lack of a clear vision of overall strategy and where the company is headed. Senior leadership is aloof and not very accessible to the rank & file; however, they think otherwise. In most cases they seem clueless as to what is actually going own within their area of responsibility Very political....everyone talks the party line saying what the leadership team wants to hear, to climb the ladder. In some cases the VP level management assign blame to direct reports for problems in a business line that are caused by their lack of management. People are just trying to stay low and not lose their jobs due to layoff or "being targeted for lay off because you are an older employee" to avoid an age discrimination suit.
