Pros

- Great company, doing well in its market - CEO is terrific, I really liked him and pretty much all his decisions - Great benefits - Some really great people work there - They don't just say the words "work life balance", they mean it - Educating kids is a great mission

Cons

- They don't pay the best, it's pretty well known internally - They have some really primitive/archaic methods for some of their most important processes - They (upper management) show no signs that fixing these archaic processes are important to fix - I saw lots of buddies; people who got promoted or other favoritism because they were friends with their manager - I was verbally attacked multiple times by a co-worker one month, in full view of my manager; yet this person was named employee of the month, because he was a buddy with the manager - A couple co-workers made up some things about me that were not true, and told my manager; fortunately I was able to collect enough data to defend myself against this baseless attack. I never found out why they did this. - One of the folks from the previous bullet continued to bully me for months after that, I believe they were angry that I was able to turn the tables on them. - Not long after I got there, I realized I could honestly say that of the 5 worst days I ever had on the job, at least 3 happened at CA - Way too many trainings - Way too many polls - Security is completely over the top for their risk factor - Promotions are really hard to get; I put in my reviews for years that I wanted to move up, and got NO help, support or direction from my manager - Reviews changed almost yearly, and always seemed to get worse; it's not that hard a thing to do, yet I'm not sure they ever got it right - Managers have far too much power; I saw them get away with things they'd never get away with elsewhere - HR was useless when I was there, unable to really help me with anything - Devops not as helpful as they could/should be, and allowed to get away with it

Pros

A truly outstanding culture where literally every one of your coworkers is smart, hard-working, and most of all a genuinely good human being. CA prides itself on being a great place to work, and they work hard to build a culture that reflects that promise.

Cons

Lots of travel, not much down time because it’s a very successful/busy/constantly growing company
