Pros

Great staff brilliant customers best part of the role is customer interaction. I REALLY DO ENJOY WORKING AT CURRYS/PCWORLD its the best job I have had but for reasons below it could be a better job.

Cons

KPI's Way to many you have to lie and cheat your way to make targets or COOK the SQ ( current employees of curry's know what SQ is ) B2B targets are laughable anything big like a £2000 TV goes on B2B if not on finance even if its not a business customer ( current employees all know about cooking the B2B target ) Smart plans given to none business people. Upgrade anytime decent product as long as the customer knows its a lease and not finance ! Care Plan another decent product but let the customer decide if they want it and not use the old you get a month for free crack. The reason the get the month for free crack is that the expectation for TV care plan is 50% attachment rate on CP 19 forcing the colleague to force the customer to take the care plan then wonder why retention is poor and why the customer cancels it because they didn't know they had it or did not want it in the first place Oh by the way the TV comes with a free 5 year guarantee but you still need to get the customer to buy one as well just in case they accidently beak it by act of clumsiness BUT house insurance you hear the customer say HERES A MONTH FOR FREE ( groan ). Micro management on a industrial scale if anything currys/pcworld do great at its this KPIs on KPIs Reports for reports regular one to ones with management where you get scored 0 to 4 for the performance in the store 0 being your crap 4 you're a sales god and regularly lunch with Thor, iron man and the Hulk as if anyone who works for currys/pcworld knows no one gets a 4 because they just don't ! a culture thing in the company if your really good you will score 3. Unfortunately having read the reviews on this site I can confirm the early morning grief/brief is focused on what is going badly in the store and not what is good ! Big shout out to all my Colleagues in the company salt of the earth people !!!!!

Pros

Good pension scheme, front line team are ace, share save is good, serving customers get to work with cool tech.

Cons

Bullying is rife. Direction is poor. Arrows between bonus and performance management aren't aligned. Too many regional managers use fear to motivate Unhealthy like culture of performance management 90% of stores failing to achieve reward. Good people leaving in their droves. Soulless upper management HR team aren't supportive Payroll is a joke Bonus is convoluted and elusive Pay can be as little as 30% of 25p for putting a contract through, (the other 70% is bonus you won't earn - see above 90% of store missing) Wcss is a joke and paying people off of it even more of a joke. Understaffed and overworked. Customers complain about queues. Which means reviews are bad and you don't get reward.
