Pros

The product base that I sell (working on computing) is really interesting and you will receive a good mix of customers

Cons

Where to start? Over complicated computer systems. Management who shout at you and make you feel like an idiot. No feeling of job security. There can be no customers in the shop and the managers will berate you for not selling. Work ridiculous hours over the holidays without consideration to home life. Unsympathetic in case of sickness (you being sick isn't great for the company? Yeah, not great for the employee either). A ridiculous number of things to try and sell to customers. If we try and do everything asked of us with one customer, it's nearly guaranteed they would turn cold or even not purchase the items. If we don't do everything, the system of micro management that is in place will soon have you sat down for a "chat" (warning). Oh, and 4 weekly payments not monthly

Pros

Good opportunities to speak to a wide range of customers. Great place to increase tech knowledge. Can easily make friends with fellow colleagues. Relaxed environment at times. Allowed to have phone on shop floor in case of emergencies and also to demo some products. Allowed to play own choice of music sometimes. Some cool training events to attend. Bonus scheme recently changed to an individual basis rather than relying on whone store to achieve targets.

Cons

Far too many targets to focus on. It becomes very stressful when they put sales before customer service and you get told off if you don't live up to the expectations even when you've tried really hard. Hardly much praise for good work. Pay isn't that great. They cut the break in half which caused some staff to get stressed out. High turnover of staff. Stopped paying you extra for training online and in workshops.
