Pros

Colleagues are incredibly helpful! Since day 1 they have helped me with many things such as till systems and other pieces of useful information. Definitely a highlight. Managers are pretty chill and let you do your thing, so long as you hit your given targets (which depends on how many hours you work and such.). They are flexible with hours, so perfect for those doing university/college. Meeting the actually interesting customers are some of the highlights of working in retail, you get to learn a lot about many people. It's good pay if you're a younger colleague, you get really small commissions if you sell certain things. Helps if you know your way around tech, they put you in the department you're best in - you may move around but typically you stick in one department. Training was pretty fun, you get flown out to their Fort Dunlop training facility and you get to meet a cohort of other colleagues. You're back in store to do more training which lasts 6 months - this is all online training which you can do at your own pace as long as you finish it within 6 months.

Cons

The reality of working here is that regardless of how much you love technology - it gets thrown completely out the window. You will have many targets - the most annoying target to reach is the warranties. If there's one thing the managers will try to drill into your head, is to sell as many of those as possible. Too bad if your customer doesn't want to take a warranty! (which 90% of people don't anyway). Are you fine with selling bundles that people don't necessarily need? Doesn't matter if you aren't, because you should be hitting your additional services targets. No, your TV doesn't need this gold-plated 16K HDMI cable. Should you buy it? Of course! Expect this mentality when working here. The targets are somehow the least of your worries because some of the customers you meet in the store will drive you mad inside. I've had people get mad at me for the silliest of reasons, and sometimes it can boggle your mind so hard, you start to genuinely rethink why you decided to apply. I've even had customers call me useless because the item they desired was out of stock. It's genuinely unbelievable, but that is a common experience.

Pros

Hopefully get lucky with people you work with.

Cons

Nothing works. Company thinks it's an amazing place to work for an let's say 'aggressively persuades' you to praise them on their employee satisfaction surveys.
