Pros

they pay to get your real estate license. Sometimes get to leave early before holiday weekends. Lots of work for charities

Cons

The turn over is incredibly high. They keep brining in a steady stream of white male recent college grads and don't provide a lot of training. No diversity, old boys club. Micromanagement to the extreme. No work life balance although many people work two jobs to make ends meet. High pressure environment with management who try to motivate through scare tactics. Promotions are random and they don't post jobs. No career path. HR is horrible. The charity work is nice but it is too much and takes up way too much time.

Minorities BEWARE

Pros

CW has a strong reputation within the industry. The job experience looks good on the resume. My peers were a supportive group.

Cons

At the end of the day the leadership team is basically non diverse, they do not welcome minorities or their ideas. The mostly non diverse leadership team wants other non diverse people that look like them and think like them. I am not sure how CW will survive, as they do not foster inclusiveness or diversity. Their competitors JLL and CBRE have already left CW far behind and have ERG's in place and diversity programs in place for years now. I do not recommend this as a place for employment for a minority. Being in HR I hardly saw minorities being promoted. Non diverse colleagues were groomed for leadership roles and plum work assignments. Out of the 10 out of 13 C level executives are non diverse.

Pros

Chicago office location is great and office is pretty.

Cons

I was offered a job at C&W and verbally accepted. I declined 2 great job offers for this position. I reached out for the offer letter and was told the next day that my offer was rescinded. The reasoning was because I "showed a lack of enthusiasm or interest". They knew that I turned down better offers for them and now I'm left with nothing. Please do yourself a favor and don't apply or interview with them.
