Soul draining, meaningless, cold workplace

Pros

The pay is good if you can live with getting paid to sit in a chair and do nothing all day while cyient charges outrageous hourly rates to their customers.

Cons

Meaningless, nonchallenging work. Direct and upper managment are not qualified for their positions and do not know how to lead employees or ensure company success. I was given no work for months at a time due to technical issues and managment short-sightedness but still had to show up everyday and would be given greif if i requested time off. Very bad experience with every aspect of work here.

Pros

Quality engineering experience early on in your career. Depending on which team you work for, can tap into a wealth of knowledge from experienced engineers

Cons

Not much incentive for upward mobility No sick days. Hourly, so things that out of your hands (inclement weather, customer purchase orders not coming in etc..) hours are expecting to be made up on your own time. No sick days. Have to earn PTO, not given at the beginning of the year

An Ok Place To Work

Pros

Do get to work at home some. Some peer group members collaborate pretty well.

Cons

Only 2 weeks of PTO given per year, even if you are there for more than 20 years. Only 1.5% matching by employer in 401k. Office is isolated which is a safety risk and hard to commute to. Company has not given raises in 2 years. Raises before that were okay to not good. Company changed health care plan options to lower quality. Company seems to always be reducing its costs at the expense of the employee: shown in health care plan changes, Company's goal seems to be to replace higher cost American workers with lower cost Indian works. Although is an American company, it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of an Indian company.
