      -Flexible hours -Good benefits for full time (32+ hrs a week) -Clean and comfortable store environment (most stores) -Sports toys abound -relative freedom and responsibility

      Cons

      -extremely high turnover, constantly training new employees -non-existent training -some incompetent managers -frequently at minimum staffing, tough if you are part-time -some questionable store programs -constant product shortages -many poor employees -low pay This is retail, what did you expect?

      Training was decent. They throw you in there right away.

      Poorly run. Store manager had no idea what was actually going on.

      I would describe Dick's Sporting Goods as a neutral experience

      Pros

      Dick's Sporting Goods offers a good place to get preliminary job experience. Interpersonal skills can be developed well by some of there positions including sales floor and customer service.

      Cons

      The Dick's that I worked at had poor management and a high turnover rate of management, so your manager is likely to change over a period of year.
