Pros

Good entry level for resume if don’t have sales experience. Free coffee, snacks, lunches. 4 10 hour days with 3 days off.

Cons

Where to start. No career advancement. Terrible and expensive health insurance with high deductible. Dental plan doesn’t cover anything but cleanings. PTO accrual is a joke. Never able to take time off and if sick even with doctors note get Attendence point which you can get fired for.. even with doctors note.. very unprofessional. Constant negativity from customers and management. Toxic environment. You are replaceable so they don’t care if fire/quit. I quit after 2 years when found better pay and benefits with Comcast businesses.

Pros

You get paid to show up and they aren't cheap when it comes to infrastructure.

Cons

The draconian enforcement behind the HR policy is what really makes DISH the worst place to work in the US and has cause a serious void of talent with in the organization. Office culture at the Corp Headquarters is beyond surreal. The in office policy 9-4 is still enforced: Don't let the snowy roads make you more than 1 minute late or you and your manager will have to build a business case as to why you were late. Annual firings that really have no solid reasoning behind them: Their is hardly any tribal knowledge and the people that don't get randomly fired usually quit with in a year. Office PTSD: There are so many damaged people in this org from watching their coworkers get randomly axed and ultimately waiting for the axe to fall on them. Charlie Ergen: Charles is still steering the ship. Clayton is pretty much a figure head.

Pros

The work is interesting, compensation is much better than people think, and the company is trying (with quite a bit of success) to be innovative in terms of its products/services.

Cons

I have had job openings posted for many months, and I can't get people in the door to interview due to the company's reputation - some of it deserved, some of it not. Our chairman wants to hire young, innovative thinkers, but doesn't understand that our lack of flexibility is unacceptable to this generation. As a result, we are hiring many people who just barely meet competency expectations. When a company has to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get employees, the future is very bleak. This is not meant to be offensive to the many really good people who work here, but the talent level is degrading due to the rigid policies. I really don't think that executive management understands this fact. The caliber of employees here at DISH isn't what it once was, and no matter how hard I try to paint this as a good place to work, really talented people aren't buying it. They are able to find plenty of places that will give them what they're looking for.
