Pros

Location within the south metro Denver area. Easy to get to. Cafeteria and snack shop availability. Discount on Satellite TV.

Cons

Having your clock in/clock out reported. Lack of training encouraged by Senior Management. Overkill on compartmentalizing job functions within System Development Life Cycle. Incredibily old customer service application. Intensely monitored use of internet/email system. The beautiful campus in Englewood (Inverness) is only beautiful on the outside. The offices, and furnishings are leftover from Merrill Lynch days, no privacy, and are basically falling apart.

Pros

Dish Network offers its employees free tv after working there for 3 months. I would say that this is the only benefit working there. Employees are treated like cattle. I can't really think of any good reason to work at DISH. If you are really into watching TV and like to be in that industry, then maybe you would like working there. There are so many tech jobs in Atlanta, I can't really see a good reason to work there. The work itself is not very exciting. They really used old techologies and are reluctant to upgrade to something new. Most of us spend our time revamping code written by people in Denver are treated like second class citizens.

Cons

There is very limited internet access available. Not matter what your position, your hours are clocked. Every time you login to your computer, you see a pop-up saying that all computer activity is monitored. Since we are not at corporate headquarters we don't get any of the perks that they offer. If you consider interviewing there, ask about the benefits up front. They don't give you the day after Christmas or Thanksgiving off either. The medical benefits are probably the worst that I have ever seen for employees. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There is not much room for advancement because all of the important work is done in Denver.

Pros

Lots of overtime, lots of money to be made, lots of travel time, you get to meet all kinds of people see all of San Diego from the beach to Yuma AZ. better technology than DirecTV. as far as receivers and LNBF's.

Cons

Long hour days, the San Diego management, poor equipment, no feedback from management, non professional management.mandatory overtime (believe it or not) you have to stand on a metal ladder with a electric drill and a 30+ inch dish during a lighting storm and when you call to say this is too dangerous to do right now there answer is like Nike "just do it"
