      The staff is nice but miserable

      Cons

      No respect for staff; can be laid off at any time doesn’t matter how long you’ve worked here. Expected to do multiple jobs as they do not staff properly. Over work you until you burn out. Lie to the staff about anything and everything. Toxic work environment. Staff is miserable and attorneys are stressed out.

      Pros

      Prestige of company size/reputation. Nice offices. Decent benefits.

      Cons

      Red tape in abundance. Good luck trying to exercise any independent thought or judgment - you’ll be reprimanded for it. Every move must go through chief level approvals, after ascending a very long chain to get there. Constant turnover. I mean constant. Some is due to layoffs and terminations, but the bulk is due to attrition. Some departments have lost and replaced up to 20 positions in the past 1-2 years. Little to no room for advancement. People end up leaving to get better offers because they find themselves in a dead-end holding pattern at DLA. Corporate “faceless” vibes. You’re not going to find much of a personal touch there, unless you luck out and get a caring supervisor.
