Avoid DLC

Pros

It's a paycheck if you can't find work elsewhere. Keep in mind that many "Pro" reviews on glassdoor for DLC are internal staff and recruiters trying to inflate DLC's overall rating. Their reviews are blatant marketing ploys to offset negative reviews.

Cons

DLC's a horrible place to work, avoid at all costs. They treat their consultants like disposable commodities. They don't care what consultants think about projects and engagement in terms of strategic fit or what's best for the client. They've hired many managing dirs & client service reps with little or no practical experience in accounting and finance, so they don't understand and appreciate what projects require, what clients needs are and what the actual work entails. So clients and consultants beware, there's a culture of ignoring client and consultant needs at the expense of both client and consultants just for the sake of generating billable hours. They're often placing a consultant on an engagement only to have the consultant replaced within a short matter of time as they don't meet the needs of the client. For prospective consultants, you're better off working for Accretive Solutions, RGP, Robert Half or Goetzman Group where they treat their consultants like valued employees. Turnover at DLC is quite high due to extremely low consultant morale, which the company ignores. Their highest priority is billable hours, everything else falls far behind.

Culture of Performance

Pros

This is the place to work if you are looking for a high performance culture. The bar is set high in this organization. The management team and you peers will challenge you to exceed expectations and never settle for good enough work. Clients recognize the company as having the best project and interim consultants in the markets they serve.

Cons

Not the place to be if you want to mail it in. Company and client expectations of DLC consultants are extremely high.

Pros

DLC offers the flexibility of being a Full Time Consultant, with all the generous benefits of working for a large corporation or a start-up, plus a huge amount of project-based variety. It's exactly the role I've been looking for. Been there about a year now and have had great client exposure and opportunity to work for exactly the types of companies I've wanted to experience - I know I'd never have this career opportunity otherwise. If you're looking for a secure, full-time position, but with all the variety, exposure and challenge of project-based work, DLC delivers!

Cons

Can't say I've found any. This is a Consulting firm for BIG4 CPAs, MBAs and highly analytical finance and accounting professionals, and I've met many extremely talented people just in my first year. I've been impressed with the experience so far and would recommend the opportunity to anyone looking for more variety and challenge in their professional lives (that seeks to consult, of course). Remember, you get out of it what you put into it!
