Pros

really smart and friendly (for the most part) people. Great learning opportunities and interesting projects. You can really feel like you're making a difference

Cons

The compensation is atrocious- no bonus structure and the yearly "raises" don't even keep up with inflation. Managers are a mixed bag; if you're lucky you'll get a competent manager but it's extremely frustrating that those seem to be few and far between.

Pros

KEMA has friendly co-workers and interesting work (for some departments), and the company is generally well meaning.

Cons

Company culture after the DNV buyout went from slow and risk averse to even worse. Great place for a later stage career, but didn't low mobility for junior staff. Incentives were only lightly tied to performance.

Once proud company going down fast

Pros

Global company with wide exposure in the Maritime industry. Possibilities to work world wide and get involved with many aspects of engineering and survey work on-board ships, rigs, and industry suppliers.

Cons

Massive internal red tape, systems and systematic. Heavy on foreign expats in management only looking out for their own interest and pocket book. Very low morale currently due to layoffs and pay freeze.
