      Losing sight of what is really important.

      Pros

      Wages are above average Many locations provide opportunities for additional hours if needed Wealth of information available for educating patients

      Cons

      Upper and mid level management are focused on profit, how to meet budget. However, there still seems to be adequate funds for large national meetings. This company claims to strive for the best for its patients, but the fact is most clinics in my region are inadequately staffed. The RN becomes responsible for picking up the slack which then limits their ability to perform their own duties. Mid management is punitive in the way they deal with issues- "do it or else" approach is common. Within the last few years it has become near impossible to hire experienced, knowledgeable managers to run facilities because of the reputation the company has earned. This created chaos. Overall it is a very stressful environment to work in.

      Pros

      I enjoyed Davita's family oriented culture. They consider themselves a village instead of an organization. They are very good about promoting morale and they offer great benefits and perks.

      Cons

      I think that my experience with my supervisor and some employees was an isolated event and is in no way a representation of Davita as a whole. I experienced a lack of communication with my supervisor. He somehow thought that I was a mind reader and expected me to be able to know what his expectations are without having to express them to me. There was also some interoffice drama that was fueled by a lack of structure within the department.

      Pros

      flexibility but that really depends on who you work for, team events and activities are abundant at the corporate office, over all a nice place to work, el segundo corp office has a pleasant atmosphere and is nice and new, computer equipment is new,

      Cons

      very high turn over, singing the fight song, still a fairly young company, policies and proceedures still being established, some senior management have no people skills and don't acknowledge the "little" people, IT help desk at el segundo corp office has some major issues and are not helpful what so ever when urgent issues arise, starting salaries pretty low and very little room for promotion unless you're "in" with the right people
