Well, the infestation of fleas, bedbugs and roaches was a MAJOR REASON I left the company. No one seemed to care we were killing bugs everyday at work. Staff were blatantly rude to new staff, talking about them audibly in the treatment area within earshot, and witnessed several staff members bad mouthing another staff member TO A PATIENT! Witnessed an LPN commit neglectful (almost elder abuse) to a patient simply requesting to go to the bathroom. When I couldn't stand it anymore, I put in a four week notice- and was harassed by staff and management and then told my PTO WOULD NOT be paid out. PA state laws states that all wages (which included vacation and PTO, as stated in the statute) MUST be paid to employees leaving. I was called an hour and a half after sending an email to HR to tell me "upon second review of my case, my PTO would be paid out." Always do research, they assumed because I was a younger employee I would roll over and take it.
Management was horrific here. Several staff members belittled new employees. Nothing was ever said. I have seriously never met more "fake" people as I did the management of Davita Dialysis in Johnstown.
The work wasn't easy either. Imagine starting work at 4:30, being berated by any and all patients, having staff manipulate you to set you up to fail. Witnessing several questionable policies that any nurse with logic would question (abuse, infection control issues)
I do not know if all Davita clinics are like this. I'm sure some are really great. However, the negative connotations and poor patient care leads me to warn of Davita dialysis
