Pros

Health insurance is the only reason I am still working at Dart.

Cons

So many. While the health insurance is good, all other benefits are slowly being taken away from us. And the benefits are not the same at all the plants. Some plants have sick pay, others do not. Some plants pay their inspector/packers fairly well, others do not (depends on the area is what I've been told). Upper management "delegating" work to the lower management levels, but then the upper management gets the credit for all the work that was done. Meetings after meetings, after meetings, after meetings & then we STILL have to do some of their training power points because "they don't have time". All departments severly short-handed, but managers are expected to keep all machines running. Machines that require 2 employees are now operated by 1 employee. Everyone agrees that safety is important & needs to be top priority, but by having us run short-handed, pushing more & more work on us to perform, plus attending to all our own duties, CORPORATE & UPPER MANAGEMENT are now the safety hazards. Someone is going to get seriously hurt . All departments are totally overwhelmed. It's just way too much. Either open up your pocket books & allow us to have more employees, or cut back on all the work we are having to complete every day. We can't do both anymore. Favoritism is an ongoing problem. Poor morale & attitudes. We, as managers, are told to boost the employees' morale, give them positive reinforcement, but who gives it to us? And it's hard to do so anymore when you don't believe in what you are trying to sell to the employee. Dart has some serious problems. I have been to a number of plants for training purposes, & I hear it from every plant. Short-handed, low morale, high turnover, bad attitudes, work overload, no support from corporate or the upper managers. What keeps everyone here, I really don't know. Maybe the health insurance. I certainly haven't heard anything else.

Pros

Good benefits like health insurance, 401K match and holidays if you don't have to work on them

Cons

High stress levels among management is evident at all locations. Local management and supervision are overburdened with not enough employees to do the job and too many poorly written policies. Pay is average to below average for the amount of physical labor required and most production locations are very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter.
