Pros

Most of the people you work with will be great, and most managers and supervisors seem flexible and understanding of needing time off unless you are in production.

Cons

They will promise room for advancement and not deliver. They will flash a broad salary range in your face and you'll never see above the bottom 10%. They have far too many layers of management making $110-150k/yr with too few direct reports, and refuse to hire people than can actually solve the problems. And lastly, you'll never score well on your yearly reviews because upper management tells middle management not to give above 3.5*.

Pros

Great start pay, quarterly bonus, good benefits, work support between peers.

Cons

You do not receive any sick hours, only 80 emergency hours unpaid, a few days of personal hours unpaid and a week or 2weeks of vacation hours, which has to last you a whole year on 12 hour shifts. Breaks are 3 10mins and 1 20 min lunch for a 12 hour shift. This year they are forcing us to work Thanksgiving and Christmas day. The HR department are not supportive at times very rude. Ip concerns are overlooked most of the time.

Pros

Comfortable to work at if you're with the right manager. Good benefits package. Respectful work environment. Sensitive to social issues. Somewhat secure to work at, Layoffs are not so frequent and are not at large scale.

Cons

Salaries are too low compared to the market. Old management holding on to obsolete work values and mentality of selling your soul to your employers affects this and your salary remains low without significant increases unless you're lucky. Company lacks vision of the future and how the world is changing. The system is a constant struggle between old guard and new guard. It's always hard and slow to bring in new ideas and change to any of the business areas, and if done, the preference is to increase complexity of the current system rather than bringing in radical change because of this lack of acceptance of new ideas. The diversity is good but upper management lack diversity. They tried to bring in new executive positions post covid but it felt nothing more than a formality to go with the flow. No real support for immigrants.
