Pros

Solid name recognition, cool CEO.

Cons

Depending on whether you are a "hunter" or "farmer", and depending on the specific sub industry (hospitals versus pharma/biotech) - your job can be smooth sailing or an uphill battle of epic proportions. Pros

Great benefits for individuals, high profile company, great product

Cons

The culture is terrible, its a eat or be eaten culture. Leadership shares a lot of non-sense and it very in-genuine.

Pros

The employees and teams at Databricks genuinely work together and collaborate. There are no pointing fingers of "that's someone else's job", which I really appreciate. Everyone is willing to jump in and work as a team. Employees here are extremely talented, and it's a very transparent culture as well.

Cons

Work-life balance could definitely be improved. There is a culture of grind, grind, grind. There also can be an expectation of meetings during your evenings, and being responsive after working hours. You absolutely have to make personal boundaries, or you will end up taking calls outside of working hours. I do wish this would be encouraged and modeled from the top layers of leadership, as they do these things and don't encourage others not to work after hours. Ideally, model PTO, model taking care of yourself, and when others are sick let them take the day, rather than sending a Slack message saying I'm sorry you're sick, can you help me with this?
