Pros

Founder led startup, with innovative engineering culture and excellent product market fit. The pay is great, the people are wonderful, they value diversity, and everyone lives the culture principles.

Cons

Databricks is still a startup, and you need to be able to hustle and have grit. This is not your legacy tech company.

Pros

Teamwork Product Leadership Compensation Values PTO policy This is an amazing company. I worked at Dell Technologies for 6 years and never felt like the whole company was moving in the same direction. Or that leadership was transparent. Here is is the exact opposite. You are not babysat. You are given tons of tools to do your job the way you want too. They will even pay for extras if you show the value. (l.e Lavender) Every single person here is a rock star so you know you are getting the best everyday. Teamwork is real here. I can always reach out to my team or extended team to help me with even the simplest of tasks.

Cons

You have to be someone who isn't afraid of finding answers. Because of the freedom it can be a challenge to create proposal. You fix that by walking through one with a more seasoned AE and saving it in your files as a template. You cannot sell this alone. There is no lone wolf stuff here. It is a complex sell so the sales cycle is long (6-12months.)

Pros

- Great benefits - Energetic culture - Prudent leadership - Positive work environment - Remote-friendly I've been with Databricks for 1 year at the time of this writing. I have found that the overall culture here is one of enthusiasm and excitement about the product and the industry. People here really believe in the power of what we offer, which is great. The benefits are quite competitive in my opinion, and management does a great job of showing appreciation for solid performance. Our CEO still welcomes every new employee by name at our weekly All-hands, and the culture is very energetic. The academic roots that our founders bring to the business are evident—it doesn't feel like just another business started by business people. They really care about the product.

Cons

We work hard and stay busy, which itself is not necessarily a con—but if you aren't able to set boundaries and defend your time, you may find yourself working a bit longer into the day than you might like. However, in my experience management has been acutely aware of the potential for burnout and has been proactive in their efforts to mitigate it and recognize good work.
