Pros

team members are smart and helpful

Cons

unlimited time off is a bit of a scam to not payout on your PTO when you leave, they misclassify their solutions engineers as exempt on the West Coast and the time commitment is high, so you lose out on a ton of overtime. much of the manageme is inexperienced

Pros

Great office, smart people, good comp and benefits, dominant market position. Work-life balance is very good; many people are in at 10 and gone by 6.

Cons

Acute lack of management and leadership, no career planning, pressure to deliver fast and bad with little focus on quality and sustainability, insular culture (teams keep to themselves) in tech, sales culture is uber bro-ish frat party, events culture is a sorority, you are expected to just figure stuff out with little to no help, very little pairing or cooperative work.

Pros

Amazing company with a great trajectory within the monitoring software space. Young professionals that share commonalities creating a fun work environment across the floor. Has really made a name for themselves in the industry.

Cons

You are given 9 months to ramp up but that doesn't mean you will not be given a performance plan and eventually fired before the 9 months are complete. They promote managers that are good sales people but don't have the ability or qualities of a manager or leader. They pick favorites across the floor that will be given more opportunity or support from management and upper leadership. I had faced muiltiple situations I should have gone to HR about when it came to innapropriate comments and rumors spread from management about sellers. Overall would not recommend Datadog to someone unless they're a man and are willing to be belittled often, not supported if they aren't perfect the first time and are ok with being told no when you ask for help.
