Pros

some of the best work life balance in the industry great leadership, very positive and warm culture with social events, etc.. stock has a history of growing a lot free lunches M-W-F joined as an intern and got a new grad offer like everyone else in my intern cohort

Cons

low-ish pay for new grads. Make sure you have a competing offer for leverage (total comp package for new grads that are able to negotiate is around 135 base + 25 stocks + 50 signing bonus as time of writing)

Pros

I've been at Datadog for 1.5 years now and I've had a good experience here so far, for a few reasons: 1. Frontend--The frontend web dev work is complex and interesting, and there is a ton of it. We have great frontend platform and design ops teams that support us, and we work with modern tooling and libraries. Notably, I feel valued for my frontend skills here in a way that I haven't at previous companies. 2. The product -- as a related point, the product itself is simply fun to work on. We do a ton of dogfooding of our own product at Datadog, and it's super motivating to work on a tool that I and my coworkers use every day and have a ton of opinions about how to improve. 3. Career growth -- the company is growing, and with that comes opportunities to try new things, take on new responsibilities, and get promoted. 4. Inclusion-- I can only speak to my own experience (I joined Summer 2020 so I've been mostly remote), but the culture seems pretty positive and professional. As a female software developer, I have felt supported, valued and respected throughout my time here.

Cons

The company is growing, which comes with the inevitable hiccups such as occasional changes in org structure and the continual need to hire more and more people to keep up with all the work.

Pros

None, the worse company I have ever worked for because of the bad and toxic management/environment.

Cons

Don’t even bother trying to use your professional experience as they don’t care about it; even though that’s what you were hired for. They micromanage everything you do and leadership are all in cahoots together, so complaining to leadership or HR gets you nowhere.

Thank you for sharing your candid feedback, and we're sorry that this is the culture you experienced at Datadog as that's not what we strive for within our Sales department. We're actively launching manager trainings across the company to help better arm our leaders with the tools to grow successful teams and individuals, and we believe these trainings will help to teach great leadership practices moving forward.
