Pros

- Dataminr has an excellent company culture - by far the the best i've ever been a part of. You really do feel that you have a support system of colleagues and managers - and you always feel like you have a voice in the room. - Because of the fast growth of the company, things move and change quickly - which is exciting for those of us who are always seeking new ways to be challenged and like it when things are shaken up a bit. - Solid benefits and competitive salary - While working at Dataminr, you always have a sense that you are a part of something bigger than yourself. Even on days you feel exhausted, you feel satisfied because your work feels impactful. - You work with an extremely diverse team. Not only is the company very diverse from a cultural perspective - but you get to interact and work side by side with professionals with a wide variety of backgrounds in both the public and private sector. This has been a huge learning experience for me and always keeps things interesting. - You are always working with top talent. - The company seems to have a very bright future ahead considering where it has come in a short period of time and where it appears to be heading.

Cons

- Work as a Domain Expert can be challenging because you really do have to wear a variety of hats, are expected to be very focused in challenging situations, and because the nature of the role can be ever evolving. Stress can be an issue if this is not something you are used to (thankfully - there are many outlets and resources to manage this) - Im sure the same can be said about other global tech companies - but finding the right amount of meetings (and at times that are convenient to everyone) is still something that the company is working towards improving. It really isnt a job where you can just clock in and clock out - so you have to be proactive as an employee to make sure you do what you can do to strike the right balance for yourself.

We are also very proud of our diverse team. The diversity of our community is one of our greatest strengths, and I’m so pleased it’s providing you with a rewarding work experience. I also appreciate you elevating the difficulties in navigating the work/life balance. This is a challenge many of us are experiencing at the moment which is why we have not only invested in mental health and wellbeing resources for our employees, but we also encourage managers to remind their teams to use them whenever they need.
