Pros

Coworkers are very intelligent and fun; free food; great place to use and improve regional knowledge; get professional development money to expand skill set (though could be more)

Cons

The company tries to compensate you with food and kumbaya activities, but this sort of thing only works if employees are already taken care of in ways that matter: money and promotions. The department is shamelessly greedy when it comes to raises, and promotions are based on favoritism, with absolutely no attention being paid to past leadership experience. Also, advancement opportunities are slim to none, despite the fake review HR just posted (no one here talks like that). The company makes money thanks solely to the work domain experts do, yet management rarely makes decisions that improve DE workflow or make DEs happy. The new bro culture is hurting the department, as the domain expert role should be filled by individuals with, above all, excellent language skills, which recent bro hires absolutely do not have.

Pros

Although Dataminr is now established as a global player it still has a start-up feel. The Dublin office is just six months old but it has already grown from 10 employees to almost 25. The team works together across a 24-hour schedule, driving towards shared goals. The free food on each shift, healthcare benefits and great social life make it a superb place to work.

Cons

Work is often challenging so it wouldn't be recommended for someone looking to coast through work.
