Pros

The teams are super nice to work with, the managers really care about the employees.

Cons

The hiring process is terrible. I've seen several highly qualified candidates go to waste due to discrepancies between the New York and the Seattle Office. One minute they want recent graduates, the next they want 10+ years experience. Also the coordination between offices is weak.

Pros

This company is changing the way information moves. Social media is only the first step. We are connecting the people who want to share to the people who need to know. With the pace at which Dataminr is growing, you can fill any gap you see. Every one's ideas are heard and considered. Dataminr understands the value of the brain power it has at its disposal. There's a lot of work to be done. This is a place for self-starters who want to build something meaningful.

Cons

Some times being at such a new company that is forging the way in totally uncharted waters can be unsettling. Keeping our spirits up can be tough under some circumstances. Dataminr also doesn't have clear ladders up to new positions. You need to be willing to be flexible and try new things if you want to climb here.
