Pros

The best reason to work here is you can use the time to look for a better job. Additionally, Dataminr provides excellent mental health benefits. This will help cover the therapy costs for treating PTSD you will get from working here. And there is more - You get to express your candid thoughts through “Anonymous” Employee Satisfaction surveys. And don’t worry if you forget to fill yours - your manager will remind and will also provide explicit instructions on the positive responses that need to go in the survey

Cons

Not sure why so many positive reviews are popping up here and so I wanted to use the 2 mins I get to breathe during my workday, to write this unbiased and truthful review. I have been with Dataminr for for over five years now and have seen a gradual decline in the company culture after a narcissistic and delusional ex-consultant was hired in an operations leadership role. They will lure you in with the promise of big bonuses and then at the end of the year your performance will be compared against bot performance. And so, unless you transform yourself into a bot forget about the bonus. The toxic leaders have their heads up their…..they will measure your output every single day in ways that you are not even aware off just to find any reason to give you a negative feedback because that is supposed to motivate you to do better. If working at a sweatshop is a your thing I highly recommend any operations role.

First and foremost –– I’m sorry that this was your experience. At Dataminr, we aim to create a holistically positive employee experience throughout their time with us. We have so many long-term employees here at Dataminr who work with us to ensure that the best parts of our culture aren't lost as we continue to rapidly grow. I wish we could have worked together to address the concerns you’ve shared here. As you mentioned, we do have biannual anonymous surveys. These surveys have informed many of the increased benefits and workplace wellness events that our global team positively rate. Those changes did not come from wholly positive feedback. It came from our employees feeling comfortable enough to think critically about their evolving needs during this uncertain time and trust us with addressing them. We take these engagement surveys seriously because it helps us create a better work environment for our global team. As a result, we have had an upward trajectory of employee engagement scores over the last several years, with 2020 –– an inarguably difficult year –– being one of the highest rated across the board in overall satisfaction. More recently, our October 2021 survey yielded the highest engagement score that we've had as a company to date. This is progress. As for your note on bonuses –– of those eligible for a bonus in 2021, over 99% are set to receive them in March. It’s important to us that our compensation packages are not only reflective of the competitive market, but also of the hard work our teams do to ensure the success of Dataminr. That said, there is always room to grow, and this is something that our leadership is dedicated to on an ongoing basis. On that note, please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to discuss your feedback in more detail.
