Pros

The employees were great to work with but the pay was sub-par compared to most other places. While I loved the teams I worked with and was proud of the work I did there, for many years, I am happy I moved on.

Cons

Upper management and the new CEO are non-existent. Leadership is lacking. Everything is kept close to the vest and not shared with the employees. Upper management blatantly lying to their employees in town hall meetings, just ridiculous. The whole management staff was basically taken over by Thompson Reuters/ West Publishing former mgr employees. Not that it's a bad thing but how about venture out and try some others? Pay is not great. Benefits are OK. Stability and job security are nonexistent. Terrible moral at this place. A company flying by the seat of their pants. Layoffs started in 2007 and continued for 11 years until they finally broke up the company. Mostly cut were higher paid longer termed or older employees. Kept the cheaper, younger ones. I was one of the lucky ones to keep my job through all the turmoil. I finally left on my own terms, tired of seeing so many great employee's getting let go, after many years of service. From a company of about 5K to about 700 now. From a billion dollar company to whatever they are now...from a company that almost went public (for a second time) before the great recession to a company that is a former shell of itself. Glassdoor might want to update the profile to state the correct employee count and value. Also the company will probably be renamed soon as it has nothing to do with Ken Merrill any longer. Was a great place to work years ago. Not so much now.

Pros

Great Employee's, Atmosphere, Pay, Benefits, Work Culture, Innovation, Forward thinking. Company has personal and recent experience in their own market/sector (credible). Upper management stays close to those below them - involved in Decision making, and personal life. Hard work is rewarded

Cons

St. Paul office needs updating. Most Sales Reps work from home. I've heard of plans to update the offices but nothing has been done as of late.
