Pay & commission is great

Cons

Company treats you like you are disposable. They are very racist. There are a lot of clicks. They think they can treat you however they like because they “pay a lot”.

An employee can always reach out to HR, and I would encourage you to still do so and let me know exactly what has happened to make you feel this way. Pros

The only company I've worked for that truly practiced a "family" environment, Davis regularly announces employees professional AND personal successes company wide so everyone can celebrate. The company is clear in their expectations but also firmly believe in work-life balance. They don't believe in cutting corners when it comes to staffing and compensate fairly to ensure they get quality employees. There are growth opportunities within the company and many stay with the company for years. Opinions and ideas of site-level employees are listened to at all levels of the company (middle and upper management, construction, etc). There is much less bureaucratic red tape and as a result accomplishing tasks is easier and faster. The company builds a quality product and it's much easier to sell something you believe in.

Cons

Not a con to me, but Davis is Build-Fill-Sell which means many site-level employees are not able to stay with the company for long periods of time if 1) Davis is not heavily developing in a specific market and 2) the employee is not able to travel with the company.

What a wonderful review of the organization! We truly do want our employees to put their family first. How could you possible do a good job at work if something is happening at home that needs your attention! We do have goals and standards and we do hold our employees to them. We also reward and recognize when the expectation are met and/or more importantly, exceeded. Helping our colleagues succeed only benefits all of us in the long-run and it is much more fun watching people grow and meet their own goals while helping us meet ours!

Pros

I’ve been in multifamily property management for ten years and to say that Davis is far superior to the rest is an understatement. Processes are streamlined. We are all a team across the company, and we celebrate each other successes every single day. As a manager, you are given so much support that enables you to really be the cheerleader for your team. Instead of spending hours on reports that say the same thing ten different ways, you are able to work closely with your leasing team and help develop their skills and support them to make the community successful. Since I left my previous employer and came to Davis, my mental health is better, my quality time with my family is better, and my overall happiness is better.

Cons

The only potential con is that the communities are built to sell so you may not be able to stay long term at one community, but there are always a ton of projects under development so lots of opportunities to stay with the company!

Superior! Now that is a word we like to hear. Having superior employees like you is a great feeling as well! We take the time to be sure we hire Managers with the same servant leadership style we use so we are all helping each other accomplish great things. You should be out with the employees cheering them on to success, and not behind a desk or far worse, a closed door. We are glad you are enjoying your journey with us!
