Pros

Many of the students at this campus are the first ones in their family to go to college, and have had to overcome lots of obstacles that a typical college student doesn't even consider. To be part of the team helping them to graduate and move themselves and their family up the ladder is a great feeling.

Cons

It's hard to foster a school spirit when it's an all-commuter school. The old-timer employees here have often given up on the whole idea of education and seem to see it as just another job.

Pros

pretty standard work day/hours, pays not bad, some cool people there to work with. Pretty laid back about needing a day off.

Cons

Tell you they don't micromanage in the interview, but they micromanage pretty bad. Love asking you to work saturdays. encourage overtime, but overtime pay system is terrible. Get paid less per hour the more overtime hours you work. Managers are helpful only to people they like.

DeVry - Be careful

Pros

Some convenience can be found in certain positions within the company.

Cons

Managers discourage internal communications by requiring permission to address others in the company. Employee creativity discouraged. Management specifically asks employees not to think. They just want them to do exactly as they are told. There is absolutely no upward mobility at DeVry. If you don't like what you are doing today, good luck. You are going to be doing it for a long, long time unless you leave the company. They don't share any of the success with their employees. People work to enrich the upper managers. There is no stock participation. There are no options.
