Pros

Flexible remote work options, significant access to professional development through education benefits (for self and family), internal professional development programs, and networking across business/employee resource groups such as EDGE. Able to work on projects with societal impact - mission driven organization, work, and workforce.

Cons

Have to be comfortable working in a faster-paced environment juggling priorities that will stretch your skills and require you to learn as you go. May have to operate with ambiguity at times.

Toxic Leaders

Pros

Benefits and pay is the only pro

Cons

Toxic leaders with no leadership experience; infantilizing staff; micromanaging; microaggressions; playing favorites; constant reports and unnecessary meetings; fearful and stressful environment; pressure to call and enroll students to the point of harassing people to enroll once they inquire; constantly changing and removing programs or creating new ones; you don't want to work here. Worst job and management ever. And they seem to be gaslighting everyone to think they care about DEI and they value their employees but they don't. They don't value personal thought. They push their ideas on you and if you have an outlying opinion, you're out.

Pros

I love the flexibility, the ability to work remotely and adjust my hours within reason so I can bring the kids to summer activities. The Business Resource Groups (BRGs) are amazing resources. These groups help colleagues feel seen and help enhance the sense of community, which is especially important for remote workers.

Cons

Sometimes a bit too fast-paced. Sometimes there are so many conflicting deadlines it can be difficult to juggle tasks, but leadership is always willing to listen and help provide priorities or relief as possible.
