Working in the Call Center is like a huge high school with adults of all ages. There are cliques, favoritism, all who know. Unprofessionalism. Depending on your assigned supervisor, you might have the feeling of being stuck in the mud as a new hire. Most people are counting down their probationary period to be able to bid out of the department, and with that I think its not going to be as easy as you think, I believe it will again go into who you know, and if you don't have a degree, you can pretty much be prepared to be in the call center permanently. Depending on your entry grade level, you are almost working just for hospitalization, taxes (some you never even heard of) parking, and gas. If you are not in the good ole buddy group...you pretty much are ignored on a daily basis. The training is a crash course of so much information cramped into a 7 day class. You don''t always get your access right away, so by the time you get it, what little you learned is gone. Sometimes the people that you are assigned to to shadow, if they really don't like you....YOU LEARN NOTHING during the period of time you are assigned to shadow/Y Cord with them. Its like they can't wait for you to stop sitting with them. Bottom line if you think that because you will be getting your foot in the government and this would be a good starting point...think hard and think again. Out of all the call centers that I ever worked in this is the worse. Most people are mesmerized for just having a federal job, but this place is horrible, like one review read.....avoid with all cost. You actually see right before your eyes some people that started right along with you getting the prime training and knowledge...receiving different material to help them do them job more efficiently, and you are literally getting nothing but ignored daily. If someone would have even gave me a slight heads up about this place I would have never wasted my time coming here. You are hired with blinders on, because the job description does not tell you that you will be in a call center. New managers are training new hires....How can new teach new...they are learning themselves....these cons could go on and on......Just know, there is no positivity working here..NONE!
