Forced to do too much with limited resources Expectations of Sr Mgmt are not always grounded in reality since they don't seem to be in touch with current IT capabilities Sr Mgmt does not always listen to advice of front line supervisors who have years of experience and then they make decisions that are not thought completely through which makes their goals unachievable Micromanagement caused by lack of trust in front line managers

The job security of federal employment is the best part about the job. They cannot fire you because the work load goes away without giving you atleast a year to find another job. The benifits package is also good.

Cons

Managers who have been in the same job for close to 20 years and have little technical knowledge fo the workload they are supervising.
