Cybersecurity is hot and so is DefenseStorm

Pros

*Smart people across all departments - my colleagues are wicked smart and they challenge and motivate me perform at my best. *Cool industry - Cybersecurity is am emerging field and it feels like the wild west sometimes. This makes research and customer challenges fun to tackle. *Solid tech - our product works and our customers like it. Enough said. *Financial upside - The company is growing fast and I see a future where my stock options will be worth something.

Cons

Typical start up headaches - growing too fast, teeter-totter of growing and have the resources needed to do the job.

Pros

Really love working at this company: lots of smart people, good work-life balance, and really happy customers. I recommend it! Culture is a good fit for me: focused, relaxed, light-hearted. Compared to previous jobs, low level of technical debt in the codebase and tool set. Learning hacking techniques is fun. Always impressive when I do something on our network and our in-house security guy gets a notification with our product that noticed I was doing something unusual. Some of our customers are literally invested in us: we get really good feedback and have a great relationship with our customers. Feels like we are all on the same team. Dog friendly office is fun.

Cons

People at our office really *enjoy* working, so Friday's weekly beer-o-clock is sometimes delayed or has low attendance because everyone wants to keep working on their current projects. If you want somewhere that you can play foosball for 2 hours a day, this probably isn't the company for you. On-call rotation can be a bit stressful when you have to fix an outage on your own after standard business hours, but you learn a lot from them and have support if you need it.
