      Greed for the Few and Loss for the Masses

      Pros

      Competitive environment where you can try to stop the Dell train wreck from happening in any department you choose. Great sign-on bonuses for executives and lucrative packages for those involuntarily separated.

      Cons

      Since the rating system is gone, the process of evaluation is more subjective than ever. The strategy is to cut OPEX and CAPEX in hopes of profitability. The end-goal is to pay off Michael's debts, cut loose from Silver Lake, and then take the company public again. Turning over to a new CEO at that time, Michael hopes to retire and do book tours, consult on Fox News, etc.

      Pros

      Salary was initially good. There "was" a nice bonus structure. There was periods when employees were the company celebrated successes, but those got cut, as did other things.

      Cons

      Constantly changing Managers. In a 3+ year span, I had about 6 different Managers. The overtime and high stress environment was awful and took a toll on my health to the point I had to make other career plans. Their "business model" that would help make employees successful and gain $$ in their stock, got pushed aside and ignored.
