Deloitte is a master in perception management. When I joined Deloitte 3 years ago I had other offers but decided to join due to their brand. The whole culture (or cult) of perception has been indigenously developed and followed religiously without questioning it. They are experts in exploiting various external instruments to create a brand in market, its just amazing how Deloitte fabricates things like "Best place to work", Women initiatives, social contributions, etc... There is a constant ugly struggle within Partners and senior management .. who BTW completely lack substance and are extremely shallow. There are limited growth opportunities, not intellectually driven, really depends on how you can make "partner happy". I have attended several employee review calls and the whole rating process is irrational. The pays are competitive materialistically, but when you look at negative impacts to personal life, mental stress and no intellectual growth, then compensation is not that great. To summarize, I would suggest weigh your options before joining Deloitte, because trust me its all based on your utilization hours with client. They always hire in anticipation of a upcoming project or even for short duration project. And don't believe whatever they say, if that projects does not materialize or once its over then you are an expense.
