      Pros

      Great culture - open and friendly. Management are open about strategic direction and performance of the firm. No expectation to work long hours as long as work is done.

      Cons

      Career development is a bit ad-hoc, staff are placed on jobs without much regard to their interests, career path isn't clear for technical specialists, some work is unchallenging. Some deadwood in the firm.

      Deloitte offers a lot of opportunities to work on exciting and cutting edge projects. It solves real world problems using technology. Offers its clients some of the best solutions and resources.

      Cons

      Deloitte is growing very large, therefore most project teams are also very large. It also uses a lot of offshore resources which at times outnumber even those resources from the US.

      Pros

      Deloitte has an excellent reputation in the business community and particularly in the accounting community. The employees are some of the most driven and intelligent anyone will have the pleasure of working with. The job itself is very challenging - with new challenges each day and for each engagement.

      Cons

      Without exception, the work life balance or lack thereof is the primary con to working with Deloitte or any Big 4 public accounting firm. The hours are very long and seasonal - meaning frequent throughout the year. There is no exception when it comes to working these hours. Each employee is required to work long hours without complaint or compensation. It is simply a part of the job. The work environment is also unusual - generally working in small rooms with several auditors from engagment partner down to staff. There is very little privacy and even less room for independence.
