Pros

Deloitte is an excellent place to start your career fresh from college. There is a pride in working here and the name recognition is great for getting future jobs. I started with a group of people similar in age, which made socializing after work easy. When we had time, that is. As a first year, I learned everything on the job and was not afraid to ask questions. While some of my peers were assigned to one main client, I was at several different, smaller ones and felt that I learned more this way. The feedback system allowed for my seniors to leave detailed comments on different aspects of my performance, which was helpful.

Cons

The biggest downside, as I'm sure it is with any of the Big 4, is work life balance. In audit, you are never really sure what time you'll get off and trying to plan a vacation is often a big headache with the uncertainties of scheduling. In my first year, I was not allowed to take time off during the holiday break, and spent the day after Christmas staring outside the office windows and surfing the web as there was nothing else to do. Lame. Turnover rate is high, and news of recent layoffs are grim. Even those who stick it out don't always get promoted, as there seems to be a lot of politics in this office.

Pros

Great Place to Start your Career,-People there are pretty cool and they are all very young. People leaving college will get along with coworkers well. Overall I really like working at Deloitte. The job is not the most interesting but at the end of the day I don't feel like I wasted my time.

Cons

Pay Long Hours Not all coworkers are competent and many of the clients you work with are not fluent in finance. Promotions appear to be harder to get than the recruiters say but this is not to be worried about at the start.

Pros

Different from working for certain industry company, you get access to clients from different industries and I belive it is an valuable experience for a entry-level auditor and the experience in big4 is helpful in the resume.

Cons

II chose to work for Deloitte because of its reputation and it sponsored international students working permit. After working there I can say that I am not very happy with this big4, and it is a little bit disappointed. The senior manager is pushing the deadline to you and you have to finish the work before the deadline, they never care what your pressure is and how you feel. Long working hours and low payment, the office politics plays a more important role in your promotion than competency, and I don't feel job security either, especially in the downturned economy.
