Experienced hires - Stay away unless you feel like wasting your time while you are here
Pros
Can't think of any. May be if you are fresher, good place to get 1-2 yrs of experience and move on
Cons
1) Where do I start. If you enjoy working in a mafia life environment with arrogant type-A leaders who think they know a lot, this is a place for you. 2) For a start the S&O consultants feel the technology consultants are step children in the company. Senior Execs only want to work or give good roles to folks with whom they have worked before. 3) Why then do they hire fresh talent? Well to clean up and do some dirty analysis or excel spreadsheet work which the existing consultants don't want to do. 4) You will keep hearing the term network, firm activity and other BS .. just a means to pull down your rating in the end and nothing more 5) You travel from 1 coast to another , occasionally work mon to sat.. 50-60 hrs of actual work but can't charge more than 40 .. after doing all this you get a decent year end review only if you have licked someone's ass and performed 200-300 hrs of so called firm activity .. 6) most managers atleast in the S&O side are clueless about technology issues but pretend as if they know everything 7) The practitoners in the service line called tech strategy and architecture neither know technology or architecture but will some how come up with a 60 page slide full of crap and these are the guys who get rewarded with highest rating .. if you want to be one of those in 2 years from now then this mafia firm might be right for you 8) If you are serious in a technology consulting focused career look at Accenture or IBM and if serious about management consulting or S&O look at BCG, Bain or Mckinsey. 9) What Deloitte gets is S&O talent who r not good enough to be in BCG, Bain or Mckinsey or technology talent who are not good enough to get into Accenture or IBM. 10) All in all a bad choice for experienced hires unless your want to waste your time.
