Pros

New York office and Studio on Hudson are great offices to work in where snacks, drinks, great food perks and beautiful office work environment. Exposure to interesting projects when we were booking work.

Cons

The leadership, composed of PPMDs and Senior Managers, often displays arrogance, with some individuals crossing into outright abusive behavior. Advancement and job security appear tied less to merit and more to sycophancy. Authenticity is discouraged, as employees are indoctrinated into the “Deloitte way” — instructed how to think, act, and prioritize the firm above all else. Personal life, including family, friends, hobbies, and health, is expected to take a back seat, creating an environment that feels almost cult-like. With limited projects and frequent layoffs driven by weak business performance, the atmosphere resembles a professional “Hunger Games,” where employees scramble to secure billable work simply to remain employed. High turnover and constant reshuffling erode service consistency and institutional expertise, negatively impacting client delivery. In addition, Deloitte’s commitment to DEI has significantly diminished in what appears to be an effort to align with the new U.S. government’s direction — a decision that has not prevented substantial losses, including at least 127 federal contracts valued at approximately $372 million.

Pros

- Passionate about DEI (many resources, allyship, and education available) - Every fiscal year everyone is given a $1,000 subsidy to be used on wellbeing - Very large company with a lot of opportunity - Remote work is very common and accessible across the firm - Sustainability focused - Powerful & meaningful guest speaker interviews broadcasted to all employees regularly - Deloitte University is very impressive..if you get to go (depending on role type) - Great PTO - Firm holiday disconnect the week of Christmas and in July each year

Cons

- 401K matching is not impressive compared to other companies - Chaos and unorganized teams are very common - Limited growth available with many teams - DRAMATIC difference between which groups are monetarily invested in by the firm. (Ex. Consulting or Tax have an extremely large amount of money allotted for travel, team events, dinners, co-locating working sessions, & additional pay opportunities/ increases for their employees. Other groups serving internally aren't even given enough of a budget to have a virtual teaming event or even attend a training at DU.) - Many important groups and tenured employees within the firm are facing challenges of hostile work environments, feeling undervalued, and given unrealistic job expectations. - Even though work life balance is highly encouraged and discussed, working overtime is extremely common across many teams.

Introverts Beware!

Pros

Bench down time allows free time to learn or vacation Benefits are great Every project is different and you get to start over Looks great on a resume

Cons

Company culture non existent, you go hear with a dog eat dog attitude and you progress through your own ability to network, put in LONG hours and kissing some feet Certain level consultants get no say so about what projects get assigned to them. If you get hires for a certain skill and want to build your skills, this may not be for you! The projects are backfill staffing model. This means when a project needs people, they will staff you regardless of your background and skills. I can't tell you the amount of time I spent as a PMO when I came in to do BA and Data type work. Beware: If your coach and/or resource manager are not communicative and helpful you may spend much of you time on the bench or in mismatching roles. Under utilization will result in a penalty, unwillingness to do overtime, weekends etc when requested can result in poor performance and or PIP
