Terrible Technology Culture, Decent Pay and Hours,
Pros
Plenty of interesting projects to work on, a lot with decent hours. Pay is fine considering expectations and industry (Government)
Cons
My experience may be anomalous, but it was clear from early on that Deloitte did not know how to manage software projects or products. When I first joined, I worked on a project where 3 of the teams ended up doing the exact same work. The director overseeing the project seemed unaware of this until teams were demoing their progress. I've seen people who don't seem to have ever worked on a software oriented project leading operations and development. Staff on projects often don't seem concerned with the impact of their work, they take directions and implement them, even if the results don't add up to anything usable. They don't question instructions, they don't think critically about what is actually needed to produce a usable end-product that users will benefit from using. In short, too many people at Deloitte don't have any common sense - and they hire subcontractors who also don't have any common sense. There are a handful of gems at Deloitte, but Deloitte has no idea how to value them.
