Pros

Above all, fabulous people. In 6 years at Deltek I only met a few jerks, and frankly, they got managed out. Deltek has a great niche, and is a cash-generating machine, which is good for job security. Average to good benefits. Average to good salary-wise. Outstanding flexible work arrangements (work from home, etc), tons of clubs, charity work, intramural sports, if you're into that sort of thing. Lots of communications with employees...lots of access to top management. Clearly articulated company values. There's a feeling of being on a winning team.

Cons

For the past several years, Deltek has been acquiring companies at the rate of about two a year. What with all the integration and organizational change, it can be a little unsettling if you're into stability. There's a lot of cheese-moving. Acquisitions are balanced with intermittent down-sizings, which make people leery. Total net number of employees hasn't changed despite numerous acquisitions. Promoting from within and career-paths continue to be a weakness.

Not enough work force!

Pros

Good benefits (good salary package and overall benefits!) Flexible schedule (work from homes are allowed and not strict on schedule) Nice people.

Cons

Overtime is common because of the ridiculous time frame the management has set. Processes are not organized! No one follows the protocols. Managers does not listen to employees! No one cares for the quality of the products as long as they are put out on time.

Pros

Management has improved in many departments, though there is still work to be done with how employees are treated). Teleworking is great, however in many departments there are metrics that you need to meet in order to be 'rewarded' with work-from-home days. Employees should be allowed to work from home most days as opposed to 2-3 to remain competitive.

Cons

Not enough opportunity to move up in the company or professional development opportunities. Some of the benefits are lacking (very small reimbursement for education, no sick days, quarterly bonuses are small in comparison to similar companies, 401k is ok not great though).
