Pros

Great engineering and project management challenges. Opportunities for growth no matter what section of the company you work in. Knowledge is readily available and shared frequently between colleagues.

Cons

It's challenging if you're not comfortable with a broad spectrum of engineering work. This means that (if you work in a field office), you should be able to design, coordinate procuremnt of materials, manage installers, and be willing to travel. If having the full range of responsibilities is not a problem and you don't mind the travel (40%), you will like working here. This engineering position is more about integration than it is hardcore engineering. You build complex systems using legos (pre-designed and well-thought-out) system components (unless you work in R&D).

Pros

Competitive salary, flexible working hours, and normally closed between Christmas and New Years.

Cons

They are experiencing significant growing pains. There is a mentality that you are either a manager or a "doer", and company culture gets in the way of innovation.

Pros

My co-workers are the best I have had at any job. Line managers are flexible to employees needs when a family situation arises. You can choose your start and end times within reason. The pay and benefits package is comparable to other local employers. There is a year end bonus. Promotions seem to happen on a regular basis.

Cons

Sr. Management seems to be completely removed from the day to day reality of life outside their bubble. R-D has had mandatory 50 hour work weeks for 4 months now and no one really seems to know why or when it will end. When the executives are actually in the office, they will go out of their way not to talk to us minions when you pass them in the aisles. Management only seems interested in the all mighty dollar and self promotion.
